Children of Soledad
About Us
How it Started.
In the summer of 2017, our team traveled to San Jose, Honduras, on a mission to provide clean water to the tiny village by digging a new well. When the drill bit broke in the unforgiving bedrock, our dreams of leaving the village with a well were shattered. But during our week in the village, we met a woman named Soledad, who along with her husband, tirelessly served the village’s children by giving them a hot cooked meal and bringing Christ’s love to them. Inspired by their dedication, we founded Children of Soledad in honor of our new friends and promised we would find a way to provide support for such ongoing work. Why “Soledad”? Soledad translates to: solitude, loneliness, melancholy, deserted, isolated and abandoned. We left convicted that no child should feel lonely, abandoned, deserted or isolated. Soledad reminds us of our mission to bring hope and aid to children throughout Honduras and beyond.
